Best Pancakes in London 2015, plus pick up a free pancake mix at urbanest!

Shrove day also known as pancake day is coming up (Tuesday 17th February). For some of us this means pancakes for breaky, lunch and dinner but, Tuesday makes it a little more special and gives us an excuse to indulge in them.

We’ll be giving out free pancake mixes at urbanest King’s Cross, St Pancras and Hoxton. Simply just ask for one at reception from Monday 16th and receive a free pancake mixer, caution – there are limited numbers so make sure you grab one!

For those that fancy some professionally cooked, check out these places that are known for some fancy flippin pancakes:-

The Breakfast Club

They do delicious fluffly pancakes with mixed berries and they also have the option of having it with fried bacon and maple syrup if you don’t fancy fruits. A great little brunch spot, and if you’re not feeling for pancakes they have other great American/English meals too. Great prices and lovely atmosphere inside.

Modern Pantry


Raspberry Ricotta pancakes with berry and liquorice compote served with creme friache. The pancakes were very fluffly and does not disappoint. They also serve lovely afternoon tea as well as various other British dishes. Make sure you book in advance especially on weekends otherwise be prepared to be turned away.

Granger & Co

Ricotta hotcakes with banana and honeycomb butter. The pancakes were super delicious and fluffly. The ambience and staff are very friendly too, a lovely place to visit for brunch or dinner.

Riding House Cafe

Riding House Cafe gets extremely busy during the weekend so make sure you have a table booked. They’re pretty known for their buttermilk pancakes, plus if you get there too late there’s a chance it can be sold out!

Not a fan of fluffly American pancakes? They also serve French style crepes served along with with various sweet and savoury toppings. A great choice of cocktails too if you don’t fancy pancakes.
