Fire Safety
Our properties are equipped with cutting-edge fire protection systems. Kitchens and communal corridors feature heat and smoke detectors, while bedrooms are fitted with smoke detectors. Alarm systems are briefly tested every Thursday at 15:00 to ensure they are fully operational. For more details, please consult the fire safety arrival sheet and watch our fire safety video at urbanest.com/firesafety. Your health and safety are paramount, so please:
- Utilise the smoke extractors located above the hob when cooking.
- Never obstruct your smoke detector.
- Do not prop open fire doors under any circumstances.
- Residents or their guests should not tamper with self-closing devices
- Residents should report any fault or damage to doors, door seals or closing devices immediately via your portal, or to reception
Electrical Safety
Electrical appliances pose a significant fire risk. If you intend to use any electrical devices in your room or apartment, we ask that you follow these simple precautions:
- Purchase appliances only from reputable sources.
- Register your appliance and secure a warranty.
- Regularly inspect leads and plugs for any scorch marks.
- Ensure your appliance is fitted with a 3-pin UK plug and carries a CE mark.
- Turn off appliances when not in use.
- Storing and charging e-scooters and e-bikes is strictly prohibited.
