urbanest Hoxton has a fantastic location in one of central London’s hippest areas with plenty of things to do within a mile of our student accommodation. Hoxton and nearby Shoreditch are the heartlands of the capital’s designer creativity, with cutting-edge galleries, great clubbing and live music, slick restaurants and exuberant fashion and interiors stores. The area is renowned for its artisan Hoxton London coffee shops and the walls in this part of East London are adorned with the works of Banksy and other creative graffiti artists. There really is so much to do as a student in Hoxton.

Hoxton accommodation offers a choice of 221 student beds arranged into self-contained studio apartments, two-bedroom apartments and flatshares of 6 en-suite rooms.

Whichever accommodation you choose for 2020/21, all of our super comfortable beds have a high-quality mattress to give you a great night’s sleep and every room has luxurious under-floor heating which is controlled by an individual thermostat in your room to keep you warm in the winter months. Super-fast broadband keeps you connected and the entire building (including all study and social areas) benefits from free Wi-Fi.  Every student will benefit from a spacious, fitted study desk, plenty of storage for clothes, shoes and books and, depending on the room you choose, either a private or a shared kitchen with first-class appliances.

urbanest Hoxton student flats offer an impressive array of facilities to make you feel at home whilst in London. Superb study areas will help both individual and group study and when you have finished working we have great social spaces too. The 7th-floor roof terrace offers incredible views of London and we have a great social space with flat-screen television – perfect for social evenings and parties with your new friends!

Given its location, it will be no surprise that Hoxton London has its own coffee shop with direct access from reception which is open to residents and the local community serving great breakfasts, lunches and all-day snacks. We also offer the convenience of a supermarket on-site enabling residents to stay stocked up with day to day items without leaving the building.

The ground floor also houses our bike storage facility. This is where we keep our fold-up bikes, which are available for our residents to use anytime to get around town – completely free of charge. All the other facilities you would expect from a high-quality apartment building are also offered including laundry rooms, fitness room and social spaces.

Universities near Hoxton

Our Hoxton student accommodation is perfectly located as a convenient base for many of the London universities. It takes half an hour or less to walk to many universities such as the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, Coventry University London, York St John London, and Newcastle University London. However, in the bustling heart of East London, buses are plentiful and frequent – just use your phone for contactless payment!

Things to do in Hoxton

Hoxton is one of central London’s most creative, cutting-edge areas. Head down to the Hoxton Square area and you will find a culturally diverse mix of bars and restaurants and a short walk further will lead you to Hoxton’s more artisan bars. A 15-minute walk will lead you Great Eastern Street and Shoreditch High Street and the cool shops of Shoreditch’s Rivington Street, Curtain Road and Charlotte Road. Continue passed Shoreditch and you find yourself in the trendy Brick Lane area where you will find galleries, eateries, independent shops and market stalls at the weekends. The Spitalfields Market and Commercial Street area is also a hidden gem for major retailers such as Urban Outfitters and smaller boutique shops and restaurants. Local amenities in Hoxton

While there are plenty of fun and exciting activities to do as a student in London, it is also important to know where your local amenities are for necessities. Hoxton is a lively area full of everything you need, so there are no problems finding things like supermarkets, cash points, pharmacies, gyms, and laundrettes. Take some time to explore the area when you first arrive to scope out where your new favourite coffee spot is, who does the best late-night takeaway, and which shop has that comfort food you can’t live without.

When you arrive in London, one of the first things you should do is find your nearest GP and register with them. This means that you will be able to see the doctor and get any prescriptions or treatments needed while you’re in the city.

Hoxton Transport Links

Located in thriving East London, our Hoxton location is a great place to stay to really experience the capital. There are frequent buses throughout the day and night, so there’s no limit to where you can go or how late you can stay out!

Just five minutes’ walk from Old Street underground station, you can catch the Northern line into London Bridge or Tottenham Court Road for central London. Hoxton station itself is a brisk ten-minute walk and connects you to the overground into north and east London like Dalston, Hackney, and Stratford.

East London is perfect for arty, unique experiences. Catch a bus or walk down to Shoreditch High Street for the infamous Brick Lane for thrifting, Box Park for delicious food and great music, or a little further afield, Spitalfields Market. Next to Spitalfields is Liverpool Street Station, which is a huge terminal station that has links to the London Overground, underground lines: Circle, Hammersmith and City, and Central, and trains to Essex. This is one of the best-connected spots in London and you’re less than an hour away from anywhere you want to be!

Making sure all of our accommodation is clean and hygienic is of the utmost importance given the current climate. We are doing everything we can to keep it safe for our residents. A number of safety procedures have been put in place, including:

  • Increased cleaning frequency in all properties.
  • Installation of hand sanitiser stations at all high traffic touch points within properties including reception, lift lobbies and high use communal doors.
  • Decontamination qualified cleaning operatives on-site 7 days a week to manage any potential positive COVID-19 infections.
  • Enhanced cleaning products with higher concentration viricidal disinfectants to ensure all surfaces are kept Coronavirus free.
