Now that you’ve chosen your Uni, it’s time to find some nearby accommodation. Finding the perfect place to stay during your studies is essential to having a great university experience. You’ll need somewhere that’s great to study, social, close to your university and, safe and secure. You can get everything you need with urbanest accommodation. Although all our buildings are within easy reach of SOAS, there are two locations that are particularly close, St Pancras and King’s Cross.

urbanest St Pancras is the closest of our accommodations to SOAS, being just 1.5 miles away. Found on the banks of the historic Regent’s canal, this accommodation is in a peaceful area, ideal for escaping the hustle and bustle when you need to study. But that doesn’t mean you’ll be bored either, just a 10-minute walk from the accommodation is the famous Camden Town.


St Pancras room types

Within urbanest St Pancras, you have a variety of room type options. All the rooms come with underfloor heating to keep you warm throughout the year.

If you’re looking to share with a friend or looking for value for money, a twin room is a great choice. In these twin studios, you’ll have your own place to study and rest, as well as shared facilities.

For individuals, our en-suite rooms give you a private space to sleep and work within 4-12 person flats. The rooms within a flat provide a more social experience as you will share the kitchen and dining area with the other students in your flat. There are also private rooms in 2–3-bedroom flats for those that want to share with friends.

If privacy is key for you, our studio apartments offer you everything in one space. For those on post-grad courses, this option allows you the space to work as much as you need to.

St Pancras facilities

Our St Pancras accommodation has a newly renovated common room on the 7th floor, which is perfect for hanging out with old friends or making new ones. Here you can watch TV, play pool, or just enjoy the spectacular view of London. There is also a study room on the ground floor, with free-to-use Mac stations. With super-fast broadband throughout the building, you never have to worry about getting online to do some research for your latest assignment.

When it comes to practical considerations, St Pancras has a support team on site 24 hours a day, so you can have help at any time of day. On top of that, there is CCTV, so you can be sure that all your belongings are secure. There is also bike storage available, and fold-up bikes available for use free of charge.

Benefits of St Pancras

St Pancras is in a great location, not only for SOAS but for London and the UK as a whole. Just a few minutes walk from the accommodation you can find St Pancras and King’s Cross station. This gives you access to various tube lines, plus overground services for the UK and even the Eurostar for travel in Europe. In King’s Cross, you will also find the infamous Platform 9 ¾.

But you don’t have to go too far afield to find some tourist hotspots. Just 10-minutes away is Camden Town and the Camden Markets. Being on the edge of the vibrant King’s Cross Quarter, there is also a lively nightlife on the doorstep, but far enough away that it won’t disturb your studies in the building.

St Pancras also gives you direct access to the canal, so you can get out in nature even in the city. There are other natural areas, such as Regent’s Park, within half an hour’s walk. You will also find a wealth of museums and galleries in easy reach of this accommodation.

urbanest King’s Cross

Just 1.6 miles away from SOAS is urbanest King’s Cross student accommodation. Located in the new King’s Cross Quarter it is in a lively part of London, with bars, cafes and restaurants on the doorstep. Even London’s West is easily reached from this area.


King’s Cross room types

At our King’s Cross accommodation, you have the choice of four room types. All these rooms have beds with a memory foam mattress, so you can be sure of good rest. There’re also double-insulated walls so you can be sure your room will be peaceful for study and rest.

If you are on your own, an ensuite room in a shared apartment is perfect for meeting new people. The room itself offers a private space for study and rest, with a built-in desk. Residents then share a kitchen and dining area, where you can socialise with other students.

For post-grads or those that want a little more privacy, we offer studio apartments. These apartments allow you to live and work in your own space, but you still have access to the building’s communal areas for when you want to socialise. These apartments also come with plenty of storage and incredible views of London.

King’s Cross facilities

All urbanest properties are finished to a high standard, with underfloor heating to keep you cosy even in winter months. You will also find super-fast broadband throughout, so you can be sure you’ll be able to get online anywhere in the building. There is also a 24-hour support team in the building and CCTV.

Even if you choose a studio apartment, you can be sure you won’t be lonely during your stay. With 2 main social areas, you can mix with others in your building. There is a mezzanine area for study, which has been divided into private, semi-private and communal spaces for work. On the 13th floor you will find the more social-focused communal area. This huge lounge has a TV, sofa seating and great views across the city.

Our King’s Cross student accommodation is not only within easy reach of SOAS, but also London as a whole. Just a short walk from King’s Cross and St Pancras, where you can gain access to a number of tube lines, as well as overground routes that can take you to various areas of the UK. King’s Cross also gives you access to Europe, with the Eurostar.

The King’s Cross Quarter is a lively area, with lots of bars, clubs and restaurants, so you can be sure of a decent nightlife. On a quieter note, at King’s Cross you are also close to the British Library, London Zoo, the House of Illustration and Camley Street Natural Park.
