Best places to watch football in London

Football fans are so dedicated to their teams, and being away from your home city or local team doesn’t mean you should miss out on watching the game. To help, we’ve put together a list of the best places to watch football in London and identified which ones are best for each urbanest location too.

 

The Volley

The Volley prides itself on being London’s best football and beer pub, with football merch from the floor to ceiling. With flags and shirts from across the globe, fans from all over the world will feel at home at The Volley. Expect screenings of all the major matches and on non-football days, put your knowledge to the test with one of their football pub quizzes!

Location: 211 Old Street, London, EC1V 9NR – 9 minute walk from urbanest Hoxton

Opening times: Mon-Weds 4-11 pm, and Thurs-Sat 12-11 pm

Boxpark Shoreditch

BoxPark Shoreditch

BoxPark has locations right across the UK, including Croydon, Wembley, Liverpool, and Birmingham; however, the most central London offering is BoxPark Shoreditch.

While BoxPark host a wide variety of events, from DJs, bottomless brunch and quizzes, they transform the venue into a football fan park for all major games. Bask in the glow of the big screen, embrace all the flavours from the mixture of food caterers and, of course, stay refreshed with their stocked bar; it’s the place to be for all major matches.

Redwood

Redwood Sports Pub & Kitchen screens all major tournaments, not just football, but rugby, NFL, tennis, basketball, golf, boxing and F1. With multiple big screens, an extensive range of drinks on tap, and great bar food, this is a great place to catch up with friends and watch the game.

Location: London Bridge Station, London, SE1 9SP.  20 minute walk from urbanest Tower Bridge and City.

Broadleaf

Broadleaf bar, restaurant and sports lounge offers large screens, craft beers and great food, for you and your friends to enjoy all major games and sports events. Packages are available for major events, including buckets of beer and special menus. But it’s a popular location, so remember to book ahead.

Location Broadleaf, Tower 42, 25 Old Broad St, EC2N 1HN. 15 minute walk from urbanest Tower Bridge and City.

Big Chill

Big Chill in Kings Cross is spread over 3 floors, including a roof terrace, allowing them to cater to all guests. Whether you’re after a laid-back corner to catch up with friends or want to watch the football on the big screen, Big Chill is the place for you.

Location: 257-259, Pentonville Rd, London N1 9NL. 18 minute walk from urbanest King Cross and St Pancras.

The Betjeman Arms Terrace

The Betjeman Arms

Located in St Pancras Station, The Betjeman Arms blends a beautiful location with a flavour filled British menu. There are plenty of craft beers and cocktails too! They play all major games on the TVs throughout the bar and even have spaces you can book to dine in front of a private screen with your group.

Between The Bridges

Between The Bridges proudly offers London’s largest outdoor drinking area, hosting brunch, DJs, and big screens for major sporting events. With a variety of street food vendors offering oven-baked pizza, burgers, churros and tacos, this is the place to have a bite to eat and cheer your team on in the sunshine.

Location: The Queen’s Walk, London SE1. 11 minute walk from urbanest Westminster Bridge.

Brewdog Football Fans

BrewDog

BrewDog has 21 bars throughout London. With BrewDog Camden near urbanest Kings Cross and St Pancras, BrewDog Tower Hill Outpost near urbanest Tower Bridge and City, and BrewDog Waterloo near urbanest Westminster Bridge. Each bar streams all the major games on their big screens, alongside an offering of burgers, wings (unlimited on Wednesdays) and pizzas. Oh, and don’t forget to wash it all down with a tower of BrewDog beer.

Nine Elms Tavern

The Nine Elms Tavern is just a short walk from the Battersea Power Station and is proud to be the home of live sport in Battersea. Expect all Sky and TNT games on the screens around the bar, a collection of craft beers and fun cocktails – a great spot to gather with friends and catch the game.

Location: Riverlight Quay, Nine Elms Lane, London, SW11 8AY. 12 minute walk from urbanest Battersea and 20 minute walk from urbanest Vauxhall.

Greenwood

Greenwood sports pub & kitchen have several screens throughout the bar, ensuring you won’t miss a single kick. They also offer a private lounge for football viewing, where you can book a personalised experience with a personal waiter, and you can pre-order food and drink for the big game.

Location: 170 Victoria Street, London, SW1E 5LB. 7 minute walk from urbanest Victoria.

These are just a few of the great bars and locations, near our accommodation where you can relax and watch the football, however, if you want to stay even closer to home, football can be streamed in the common areas on request.
