King’s Cross Pre-Arrival Information
We hope you are having a great summer and are starting to get excited about moving into your new nest in September. We will be hosting lots of welcome events and we can’t wait to get to know you!
We’re sure you’ve got loads of questions about your new home, how to get there, the check-in process and what’s included inside your flat. So we have put together the following information about urbanest King’s Cross to make your arrival as smooth as possible, we hope it helps!
What to bring with you
What's in you room
We’ve pulled together this handy list as a guide of what’s included in your flat to help you know what to buy/bring with you. Please check it out here.
You may wish to buy a few new things for your urbanest home to save the hassle of carting them to London (or costs of having overweight bags at the airport!), so we’ve pulled together a couple of options for you to look at.
Bedding and Kitchen Packs
We’ve partnered with Cabenco Students to provide bedding, kitchen and cleaning packs at great rates. Unlike the likes of Argos and John Lewis, they’ll deliver straight to your room and you can order now in time for September.
Please note that all orders placed with Cabenco need to be done two weeks prior to your moving in date to ensure they are there when you move in.
Budget Homeware
We all love Argos; it’s the online catalogue to beat all catalogues and has almost everything from coffee machines to rice cookers in one place.
Luxury Homeware
For higher quality items we highly recommend John Lewis. It’s the classic British department store and we can’t resist it!
Deliveries
If you are having anything delivered during your stay, please be advised that there are a selection of postcodes for the building – simply visit the Royal Mail Postcode Finder to find out the right postcode for your flat.
Please note that you cannot have any items from any suppliers other than Cabenco delivered more than 2 days before your arrival. Sadly due to limited storage space at reception, anything delivered prior to this day may risk getting turned away.
Cleaning
It might be a good idea to arrange regular cleaning of your flat – especially if you are sharing with others. It’s a very cost-effective way of ensuring a harmonious living experience.
To arrange regular weekly or one-off cleaning of your bedroom or shared areas please check out Cabenco Students.
Get to know your flatmates
Make sure you join the urbanest King’s Cross private Facebook group to get to know your new flatmates and keep-up-to-date with welcome events and things going on in your building.
Check-in Guide
The deadline has now passed to apply for Fast Track Express Check-In and confirmation e-mails were sent to all customers on September 3rd who are eligible to take advantage of our exclusive fast track check-in service.
If you didn’t manage to complete the process, or of course if you booked your accommodation after the deadline, fear not – you can still speed up your arrival process by doing the following steps in advance of your tenancy start date:
1) Upload all the required documents in your urbanest portal (see below)
2) Pay your first installment of rent
3) Register a payment card on your portal
4) Complete the top of this form on your computer, print it and bring it with you (don’t sign anything yet!)
What do I do to check-in?
All customers are welcome to arrive from 10am on (or after) their tenancy start date – but we ask that you let us know when you are expecting to arrive on your urbanest portal under the ‘My Room’ tab.
Simply head to reception at King’s Cross with your photo ID (we need to see the original – no copies) with the following documents:
- Your proof of student status (a photocopy is fine)
- Your guarantor’s proof of ID (a photocopy is fine)
- Your guarantor’s proof of home address (a photocopy is fine)
You can save time by uploading all of these to you portal in advance, but we recommend you bring paper copies with you too.
Once we have verified your documents and have completed your registration form, we will show you to your new home.
